NeoGenesis Salicylic Acid Gel
NeoGenesis Salicylic Acid Gel is a lightweight, water-based acne treatment gel that uses 2% salicylic acid to penetrate pores, dissolve buildup, and reduce active breakouts without stripping or over-drying the skin. Rather than relying on harsh formulations that leave skin tight and flaky, this gel pairs its clarifying power with lactic acid to support gentle exfoliation and maintain moisture balance, so skin stays comfortable even during daily use.
Key Benefits
Clears Clogged Pores and Active Breakouts 2% salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid (BHA), works inside the pore lining to dissolve excess sebum and dead cell buildup that leads to blackheads, whiteheads, and inflamed blemishes.
Reduces Excess Oil Without Over-Drying The water-based gel formula helps regulate sebum production so skin feels balanced and matte, not tight or dehydrated.
Smooths Texture and Brightens Tone Lactic acid provides gentle surface exfoliation that refines rough texture and helps fade post-breakout marks for a more even-looking complexion.
Supports Skin Barrier Integrity Propanediol acts as a hydrating solvent that helps deliver actives effectively while keeping the skin's protective barrier intact, reducing the irritation often associated with acne treatments.
Gentle Enough for Daily Use Formulated without fragrance or parabens, this gel is designed to be layered into your routine without disrupting the skin's acid mantle, even for those with sensitivity alongside breakouts.
If your skin is oily or congestion-prone and you deal with recurring blackheads, whiteheads, or inflamed breakouts, this gel was made for you. The 2% salicylic acid concentration is strong enough to clear active blemishes and keep pores clean, while the supporting ingredients prevent the dryness and irritation that come with many acne treatments.
This is also a smart choice if your skin is sensitive but still acne-prone. The fragrance-free, paraben-free formula works with your skin's natural barrier rather than against it, making it suitable for daily use or as a targeted spot treatment.
Ideal for anyone looking for a salicylic acid gel that clarifies and refines skin texture without sacrificing hydration or comfort.
If you tend to get breakouts along the jawline or chin, use the airless pump to dispense a small amount and press it directly onto those areas as a targeted spot treatment before applying your moisturizer, rather than spreading it across your entire face. This concentrates the 2% salicylic acid exactly where congestion builds up without unnecessarily exposing the rest of your skin to active exfoliation.
Apply: After cleansing and toning, dispense 1 pump and smooth a thin layer over the face, neck, and chest. Can also be used as a spot treatment directly on individual blemishes.
Frequency: Start with once-daily application, preferably in the evening. Gradually increase to twice daily if your skin tolerates it well and breakouts require additional control.
Follow Up: Layer a moisturizer over the gel to lock in hydration. In the morning, always finish with a broad-spectrum SPF, as salicylic acid and lactic acid can increase sun sensitivity.
- Salicylic Acid: A beta-hydroxy acid that refines texture, clears congested pores, and helps control oil production.
- Lactic Acid: An alpha-hydroxy acid that improves skin tone, smooths texture, and reduces the appearance of dark spots.
Active Ingredient(s): Salicylic Acid (2%) Inactive Ingredients: Water, Cocamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Propanediol, Salicylic Acid, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Benzyl Alcohol, Dehydroacetic Acid, Lactic Acid.
What percentage of salicylic acid is in NeoGenesis Salicylic Acid Gel?
NeoGenesis Salicylic Acid Gel contains 2% salicylic acid as its active ingredient. This is the maximum concentration available in over-the-counter acne treatments and is clinically recognized for penetrating pores, dissolving excess oil, and reducing breakouts.
Can NeoGenesis Salicylic Acid Gel be used on sensitive skin?
Yes. The formula is fragrance-free and paraben-free, and it includes propanediol to help maintain hydration while the actives work. Start with once-daily use to see how your skin responds before increasing frequency. If you experience persistent redness or discomfort, reduce application to every other day.
How is NeoGenesis Salicylic Acid Gel different from other salicylic acid products?
Many salicylic acid treatments rely on alcohol-heavy bases that strip moisture and leave skin feeling tight. NeoGenesis Salicylic Acid Gel uses a water-based formula with lactic acid and propanediol to clarify pores while also smoothing texture and supporting the skin barrier. The result is effective breakout control without the dryness or flaking that often comes with BHA treatments.
Can NeoGenesis Salicylic Acid Gel be used as a spot treatment?
Absolutely. Dispense a small amount and apply it directly to individual blemishes after cleansing. This is a great approach if your breakouts are localized or if the rest of your face doesn't need full-face exfoliation.
Does NeoGenesis Salicylic Acid Gel help with blackheads?
Yes. Salicylic acid is oil-soluble, which means it can penetrate into the pore lining to dissolve the mix of sebum and dead cells that form blackheads. With consistent daily use, you should see fewer blackheads and less visible congestion over time.
Can I use NeoGenesis Salicylic Acid Gel with other exfoliating products?
You can, but introduce them gradually. If you're also using a retinol or another acid, consider alternating evenings rather than layering both at once. This helps prevent over-exfoliation and keeps the skin barrier healthy. If you're unsure how to build your routine, our estheticians can help through a free skincare consultation.
Will NeoGenesis Salicylic Acid Gel make my skin more sun-sensitive?
Both salicylic acid and lactic acid can increase photosensitivity. Always apply a broad-spectrum SPF in the morning when using this gel, even on cloudy days. This protects your skin and helps prevent post-breakout marks from darkening.

Cleared my skin!
I was having awful breakouts and I was recommended to try this salicylic gel by creating a skin cocktail mixing it with the NeoGenesis Mandelic Acid. Within a few weeks, my face was clearing and I even noticed it evening out my complexion. I'm very happy with the results!! The only downfall is the smell of the product, it's very strange. I'll put up with it though because I know this product works. Just ordered my second bottle!

NeoGenesis
I like all of the products in this line that I have started using. This is a nice gel but note that it has a very strange smell, not great. It goes away once it dries down but it surprised me when I first used it. As far as results, I'm sure it will help keep my skin clear and pores under control.
