Microneedling at Home

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as dermarolling, is a useful and successful tool for treating a number of skin ailments. Used in combination with tried and tested skin care products, it can have a significant effect on the health and overall appearance of the skin with minimal downtime and discomfort.

What are the Benefits of Microneedling?

Microneedling stimulates the wound healing process to produce new collagen and elastin. This process plumps the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as signs of aging resulting from photodamaged skin. Another benefit of dermarolling includes an 80% higher absorption rate of skin care products. The tiny holes created in the skin serve as channels of delivery for potent serums, generating powerful results.

Does Microneedling Work for Acne Scars?

Scarring is reduced and hyper-pigmentation inhibited through microneedling. Clinical studies have shown that microneedling for acne scars is more effective than ablative laser resurfacing and just as effective as non-ablative treatments like CO2 lasers in stimulating collagen and elastin production.

Microneedling alone will deliver limited results. I recommend the AnteAGE Home Microneedling Solution to improve the health and vibrancy of the skin best. This solution is included with your Microneedle Roller in the AnteAGE Home Microneedling System if you're interested in purchasing them together.

NOTE: Lasers generate a fibrosis response that promotes scar collagen, while dermarolling results in increased TGF-B3, FGF-7and EGF which promotes natural collagen with scar-less wound healing.

How Does Microneedling at Home Work?

Follow the instructions below for using your at-home microneedling device:

Cleanse skin twice to remove all makeup and oil, then pat dry.

Working one section of the face at a time, generously apply AnteAGE Microneedling Solution or NeoGenesis Recovery Serum.

While the skin is still wet, begin to needle the skin using gentle but very firm strokes.

  1. Roll the skin up and down, vertically 5 times.
  2. Roll the skin back and forth, horizontally 5 times.
  3. Roll the skin up and down, diagonally 5 times.

The skin should be pink when you finish. If it is not, complete the cycle again. You can also do the cycle twice on problem areas.

How Do I Take Care of My Skin After Microneedling?

I recommend spritzing with Le Mieux ISO-Cell Recovery Solution which will hasten the healing process and increase the penetration of Microneedling Solution.

If you are wondering what to put on skin after microneedling, follow your treatment up with an application of either NeoGenesis Booster Serum or Le Mieux Hyaluronic Serum.

It is recommended to wait 5 hours before applying anything else to your skin. After 5 hours, apply AnteAGE Serum and Accelerator, or the moisturizer of your choice, and your favorite non-chemical sunscreen. I recommend AOS Skin Perfection or Prime & Protect.

How Often Can I Microneedle at Home?

Microneedling may be repeated 1 to 3 times per week. If you stimulate some light flaking, do not roll again until the flaking has subsided.
