Can't find a foundation that lasts? Well this oil-absorbing matte finish foundation is your match. It will not rub off or sweat off and is highly water resistant. Provides medium coverage to even skin tone and conceal blemishes. No need for additional powder or blotting! *Normal to dry skin types, prep skin with an oil-free moisturizer. 100% oil-free.
We recommend ordering the Illuminare Deluxe Foundation Sample Pack before purchasing the full size. This helps you color match your skin perfectly and you can play around with all three Illuminare Formulas to find your favorite.
Key to Illuminare Formulas
Moisturizing Formula - provides good coverage but is the lightest coverage of the 3 formulas. It is easiest to apply and blend.
Mattifying Formula - Provides excellent coverage. It lasts 24 hours and withstands water. Some people like mixing the Moisturizing and Mattifying formulas. The Moisturizing helps with application, the Mattifying helps with coverage and staying power.
Concealing Formula - This is a creamy formula with more coverage than the Moisturizing finish. Use sparingly, a teeny-tiny bit goes a long way!
Application Tips For Best Results
Illuminare formulas are very unique and different from anything else you have used before. It is important to use them properly for optimum results. It takes a little getting-used-to because these formulas have a much higher pigment-concentration level than regular, non-mineral foundations. Begin with a clean face and always prep skin with a moisturizer or makeup primer.
Only a Pea-Sized Amount Is Needed for a Full Application
Fast Application Pad
Squeeze a pea-sized amount to the pointed, beige-fabric side of the pad (the patterned side is only for decoration). Press onto the center of the face and blend outward. This tool helps to make the application of the foundation or blush very quick and easy.
Either squeeze a pea-sized amount directly onto the brush and “paint” onto the face and blend, or work in one area at a time, adding more product as necessary. You may also use your fingers to apply the foundation or blush onto the face first, and then blend it out with the brush. The foundation brush offers an “airbrushed” effect and more controlled coverage around the eyes, nose, and lips.
Squeeze a pea-sized amount onto the tips of your fingers and rub fingertips together to warm product slightly. Pat onto the center of the face and blend outward.
How to Mix Colors & Formulas
If you are mixing two formulas or colors together, simply squeeze a pea-sized amount of each onto either the application pad or the foundation brush and they will automatically do the blending for you! No mess!
- Apply each foundation to the pointed end of the fast application pad, press onto your skin, and blend outward.
- Or apply each foundation directly onto the tip of the foundation brush and blend it directly onto the skin or you can use any type of a plastic lid as a pallet on which to squeeze the foundation. Dip your foundation brush onto the lid and “apply” your customized color/formula onto your face.
- Beginners often like to mix this foundation with their moisturizer for quickest and easiest application.
Always apply a moisturizer or primer immediately before applying your foundation. I like to mix equal parts of Prime & Protect, makeup primer, with my Illuminare foundation. I then apply this with my fingers. For those areas, like the nose, where I need a bit of extra coverage, I use a tiny bit on a brush and add an extra layer.-Jeana
