Illuminare formulas are very unique and different from anything else you have used before. It is important to use them properly for optimum results. It takes a little getting-used-to because these formulas have a much higher pigment-concentration level than regular, non-mineral foundations. Begin with a clean face and prep skin with a moisturizer.
Only a Pea-Sized Amount Is Needed for a Full Application.
Squeeze a pea-sized amount to the pointed, beige-fabric side of the pad (the patterned side is only for decoration). Press onto the center of the face and blend outward. This tool helps to make the application of the foundation or blush very quick and easy.
Either squeeze a pea-sized amount directly onto the brush and “paint” onto the face and blend, or work in one area at a time, adding more product as necessary. You may also use your fingers to apply the foundation or blush onto the face first, and then blend it out with the brush. The foundation brush offers an “airbrushed” effect and more controlled coverage around the eyes, nose, and lips.
Squeeze a pea-sized amount onto the tips of your fingers and rub fingertips together to warm product slightly. Pat onto the center of the face and blend outward.
If you are mixing two formulas or colors together, simply squeeze a pea-sized amount of each onto either the application pad or the foundation brush and they will automatically do the blending for you! No mess!
Apply each foundation to the pointed end of the fast application pad, press onto your skin, and blend outward.
Or apply each foundation directly onto the tip of the foundation brush and blend it directly onto the skin or you can use any type of a plastic lid as a pallet on which to squeeze the foundation. Dip your foundation brush onto the lid and “apply” your customized color/formula onto your face.
Most commonly the Concealing Foundation is mixed with either the Mattifying Foundation for a slightly less matte finish with a bit more coverage and longer wear, or the Concealing Foundation can also be mixed with the Moisturizing Foundation for more intense coverage with the added moisture.
With either the Moisturizing Foundation or the Mattifying Foundation formulas, Concealing Foundation may be used as a concealer for added coverage in problem areas such as dark under eye circles, acne, rosacea, or any type of mild scarring or hyper-pigmentation. All of the formulas have the same base ingredients, so a combination of formulas would not be visible to the naked eye.
