Epidermal growth factor (EGF) is a small mitogenic protein that is involved in normal cell growth and wound healing.  Epidermal growth factor (EGF) is a small 53 amino acid residue long protein that is involved in mechanisms such as normal cell growth, oncogenesis, and wound healing. EGF stimulates the growth of various epidermal and epithelial tissues. EGF topical application has been claimed to be better than expensive plastic surgery and BOTOX injections, for revitalizing the skin.
