Aloe vera is a succulent plant, whose scientific name is Aloe Barbadensis. It soothes skin and helps a little bit with wound healing when applied topically. Most aloe products use a processed aloe vera gel, but you can even use the fresh aloe vera plant to treat minor sunburns and scrapes.
